memories...

Memories...a wonderful thing sometimes. At others it is best to just work them out of your system...and try to let go....

Winter will soon be here, and I am homesick once again. I really loved my mountain view, no matter what the season...Great memories...

A friend has been sending me beautiful pictures and allowing me to have some fun with them. I'm not particularly happy with how this one turned out, but can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is that makes it not quite right. The friend is from high school...memories...

The kitties. Oh how I love all of the kitties that have wandered in and out of my life. Peaches is just one of many, but she touched my heart with her own personality and special story. So sad...memories...

Other than my kids, City of Fun and CHB Entertainment was the one part of my life where I felt most alive. Proof that even the biggest mistakes we make in life have some kind of purpose...so thank you Scott, for that at least.

I met Jimmy here. We started as friends and a year later were married, if front of the Grandstand at the Cochese County Fair. Only in the carnival...Great memories...

Andrea spent a little time "working" with me one day and also introduced me to her future husband. I even got to see the engagement ring...Great memories...

Joel came and spent a whole day with me while he was serving his mission in Arizona. I introduced him to Jimmy. He approved...Great memories...

Kym came and spent a few months with us, she liked her job working with a food vendor more than working with her mom! She was there when Jimmy and I were married in Douglas AZ...Great memories...

When Dana and I were living in Utah we worked together for a summer. Audrey and Kevin brought Tanner and Isaac by one night and our boss loaded them right up with prizes from all the games. I also remember that first evening in Springville when I got Audrey to go on a ride with me...it made her very queasy. Found out a bit later that she was pregnant with Noah...Great memories...

Two Speed Scraps and a Challenge From Texas

Oh how I love a good challenge! The last couple of days has been full of them. Of course I have the daily medical challenges and digi-scrapping is always a great way to divert ones mind from those mundane everyday facts of life. A good challenge though is one that takes you outside of your comfort zone and makes you try new things.
My first challenge came from my friend in Texas. He takes the most magnificent photographs and sent me a couple of them with the message to do something with them. I've only worked with one of them so far, and it didn't turn out quite the way I'd envisioned it, but all in all it's a good mix of the beauty of Texas and Utah. I just don't know what I did to make the focus flower and the two framed photos transparencies. They aren't supposed to be.

The next challenge was over at Scrap Matters. Two Speed Scraps in less than 24 hours. I'm usually very displeased with my results after these things. I don't know if I'm getting better at digi-scrapping or maybe just got lucky, but I'm actually OK with both layouts. That is just unheard of for me.

The icing on the cake is the nice comments left by my peers and the ultimate compliment, being asked how I did different things.

I do most of my work over at Digital Candy. They have tons of different challenges over there, but they aren't big on my fave, the Speed Scrap. 'Til next time, Happy Scrapping!

It's Been Quite A Week

It feels great to be doing layouts again.(Thank you dear daughter!) There are so many ideas in my head that it is hard to keep up with myself.
Yesterday was Kym's birthday and that made me think of her father and how much we all miss him. I remembered how he wrote me a letter before we were married telling me not to worry about him being overwhelmed by my four kids. He already loved them too.
We wrote our own wedding vows and because I am and always will be a "Mormon girl", instead of 'til death do you part we said for time and eternity. It may not have been a Temple marriage, but those were our vows and I'm sticking to 'em.

I've done a lot more playing than this, but I have another blog to get to. Plenty of time to share more later. Hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into my past. Yeah.......Good Times......

I've been Unspammed!

I finally have this blog up and running. Of course I'm still out of commission, but word has it that this may finally change by Wednesday. I'm glad I have lots of old pictures to scrap because now my camera broke. Teach me to take a picture of myself! Well, here's to Wednesday and many more scrap-full days to come. Until then, enjoy my slide show.
