December Changes

It's been a long time since I've posted so I have a lot to catch up on! Being a CT for The Digi Twins has mostly been a fun experience and I'm really glad that I'm doing it. The only "not fun" part is the techie stuff that I have to learn. I'm finally catching on to it all though, so it's all good and should be pretty much sweat free from here on.
The month of December has been a real roller coaster ride at my favorite site, Digital Candy. First we got the news that Heidi was closing the doors at the end of the month which sent everyone into a tailspin! Once everyone had pretty much adjusted to the news and our designers had begun making new plans to move on so we could all keep going, along came Rick and Kate. They bought DC from Heidi and saved the site! Now it will be some of the old and some new Digital Candy. A lot of the designers are continuing with their plans to move on and many others are staying. There will be many new designers and probably new challenges too.I'm just happy to know that my digital home is not going away!
When the new year comes I will have my new old DC home plus the excitement of our Creative Team moving to a new shoppe! The suspense is killing me!!!!lol
I've done mostly Christmas layouts lately and most of them with The Digi Twins great kits. For the holidays they came up with Jack Frost, which is part of Digital Candy's December Designer's Collab and The Overstuffed Stocking which is a giant sized kit full of glitz and glamour and fun!
I uploaded these layouts all out of order, so I've labeled each one with the name of the kit I used to make it. Thank you to The Digi Twins, Bon Scrap-a-tite, Ellie Lash and any and all other designers who have contributed their designs and Thank God for the gift of creativity.

A CT Swap

How much fun is this? A couple of days after I found out that I had received my appointment as a CT for The Digi Twins at Digital Candy, there is an announcement of a CT Swap with Trish H Designs! What a fab way to be welcomed into the Creative Team world! We were able to go through Trish' store and choose two kits to work with. She has a LOT of great kits!

I chose two that I knew I could get a lot of use of. The first one I used was Merry-Go-Round. This kit totally suits my old carnie life and the photos I have to go with it!
I did two layouts with each kit for the swap. The first kit I chose was Merry Go Round and had too much fun! My first layout is Big Splash, one of my favorite photo memories from those days.

The second one I created is of my husband at work. The game is called "Roll-A-Ball", but we called it the cow race. It played the song "Green Acres" whenever the game was played. It was a very popular game so you can imagine how those of us who worked there felt about that song.....
The other kit I chose was Autumn Wishes. This kit is full of beautiful fall colors, lots of paper choices and tons of great elements!
This first layout of my daughter and grandson looks perfect with all the autumn leaves! I really like the wooden frame too.

Look at the colors in this one. Shows how versatile this kit is. I only did two layouts for the swap, but Autumn Wishes is a kit that can be used for many layouts.
This CT swap was really fun! Trish H Designs and The Digi Twins are both available at Digital Candy. I don't know how to do links yet.

Exciting Announcement!

I'm so excited! I've been waiting for this day and could hardly contain myself, but I didn't want to jinx it by speaking to soon.

So what is so darned exciting? Well, thank you for asking! I am excited because The Digi Twins asked me to join their Creative Team! Yipee! I am so excited to be working with Tam and with the other CT's.

While I was waiting to find out if my CT call was official, I worked up this little layout from the kit S'Mores

that I already had. It was perfect for the picture I wanted to work with of my son and his fishing gear.

Here is my first official layout as a CT for The Digi Twins. The kit is Twitchery Stitchery and is so much fun to work with!
I can't wait to do more layouts with this fab kit, but right now we are in the middle of a CT switch! Watch for that on my next post.

Celebrate!

It's Isaac's birthday today so I'm featuring this picture of him. Hope your birthday was extra happy and that you enjoyed your awesome dinosaur party! I remember one day at my house when we sat on the floor and cut out pictures from a magazine and made a collage for your mom. I'll never forget when you found the picture of Mickey Mouse! You were so excited! It was a fun day and one I will always treasure.

Audrey had the best news today. They are having a healthy baby girl! With 3 big brothers she will either be a real tomboy or a very spoiled girly girl. Either way she will have tons of love!

So, to Isaac and Audrey, this post is for you! Have a great day.

memories...

Memories...a wonderful thing sometimes. At others it is best to just work them out of your system...and try to let go....

Winter will soon be here, and I am homesick once again. I really loved my mountain view, no matter what the season...Great memories...

A friend has been sending me beautiful pictures and allowing me to have some fun with them. I'm not particularly happy with how this one turned out, but can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is that makes it not quite right. The friend is from high school...memories...

The kitties. Oh how I love all of the kitties that have wandered in and out of my life. Peaches is just one of many, but she touched my heart with her own personality and special story. So sad...memories...

Other than my kids, City of Fun and CHB Entertainment was the one part of my life where I felt most alive. Proof that even the biggest mistakes we make in life have some kind of purpose...so thank you Scott, for that at least.

I met Jimmy here. We started as friends and a year later were married, if front of the Grandstand at the Cochese County Fair. Only in the carnival...Great memories...

Andrea spent a little time "working" with me one day and also introduced me to her future husband. I even got to see the engagement ring...Great memories...

Joel came and spent a whole day with me while he was serving his mission in Arizona. I introduced him to Jimmy. He approved...Great memories...

Kym came and spent a few months with us, she liked her job working with a food vendor more than working with her mom! She was there when Jimmy and I were married in Douglas AZ...Great memories...

When Dana and I were living in Utah we worked together for a summer. Audrey and Kevin brought Tanner and Isaac by one night and our boss loaded them right up with prizes from all the games. I also remember that first evening in Springville when I got Audrey to go on a ride with me...it made her very queasy. Found out a bit later that she was pregnant with Noah...Great memories...

Two Speed Scraps and a Challenge From Texas

Oh how I love a good challenge! The last couple of days has been full of them. Of course I have the daily medical challenges and digi-scrapping is always a great way to divert ones mind from those mundane everyday facts of life. A good challenge though is one that takes you outside of your comfort zone and makes you try new things.
My first challenge came from my friend in Texas. He takes the most magnificent photographs and sent me a couple of them with the message to do something with them. I've only worked with one of them so far, and it didn't turn out quite the way I'd envisioned it, but all in all it's a good mix of the beauty of Texas and Utah. I just don't know what I did to make the focus flower and the two framed photos transparencies. They aren't supposed to be.

The next challenge was over at Scrap Matters. Two Speed Scraps in less than 24 hours. I'm usually very displeased with my results after these things. I don't know if I'm getting better at digi-scrapping or maybe just got lucky, but I'm actually OK with both layouts. That is just unheard of for me.

The icing on the cake is the nice comments left by my peers and the ultimate compliment, being asked how I did different things.

I do most of my work over at Digital Candy. They have tons of different challenges over there, but they aren't big on my fave, the Speed Scrap. 'Til next time, Happy Scrapping!

It's Been Quite A Week

It feels great to be doing layouts again.(Thank you dear daughter!) There are so many ideas in my head that it is hard to keep up with myself.
Yesterday was Kym's birthday and that made me think of her father and how much we all miss him. I remembered how he wrote me a letter before we were married telling me not to worry about him being overwhelmed by my four kids. He already loved them too.
We wrote our own wedding vows and because I am and always will be a "Mormon girl", instead of 'til death do you part we said for time and eternity. It may not have been a Temple marriage, but those were our vows and I'm sticking to 'em.

I've done a lot more playing than this, but I have another blog to get to. Plenty of time to share more later. Hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into my past. Yeah.......Good Times......

I've been Unspammed!

I finally have this blog up and running. Of course I'm still out of commission, but word has it that this may finally change by Wednesday. I'm glad I have lots of old pictures to scrap because now my camera broke. Teach me to take a picture of myself! Well, here's to Wednesday and many more scrap-full days to come. Until then, enjoy my slide show.
